Abadas songs to download

Catchy Abadas songs are available to download from the internet.

From Monday 27 February, songs from the seriesAbadas - including 'My Name is…' and a medley of the Abadas' songs' - will be available to download for a price of 75p per song from iTunes, Amazon MP3, Spotify, Emusic, Music beta, rdio, Verizon Wireless, Rhapsody and Zune.

Abadas is a delightful series for young children, which features three animated characters: Hari the hippo; Ela the fox and Seren the bat. They live in a colorful pop-up book owned by a boy called Ben.

As he opens the pages of his magical book the three characters come to life and the fun and singing begins.

The series is produced by Dinamo Productions and Kavaleer in association with S4C, CBeebies and RTE. The series was launched on all three channels in October 2011 and has quickly become a firm favourite with the young viewers.

The response was so favourable, it was decided that the songs would be offered for viewers to download.

Rapsgaliwn is famous for his rhymes, and this book is all about a Christmas tree adventure. This app about where Christmas trees come from is the second Rapsgaliwn app, following his adventures looking for where milk comes from. Both stories are available in the appstore now

Information about the research

We are inviting you to take part in a study looking at the effects of television programmes on language development. We are looking specifically at the influence Welsh television programmes have on children's Welsh language development.

Why are we asking you to take part?

In order to determine the influence Welsh television programmes have on Welsh language development of children between 0-7 years old, we are inviting you to be a part of this study. It is not essential that you watch Welsh television programmes to take part in the study.

Cyw Facebook Competition Rules

These terms and conditions form part of the rules set out in the competition notice relating to the Cyw Facebook Competition - Blwyddlyfr Cyw published on Facebook.

To enter the competition you must:

"Like" the image of the book/s you would like to win which wich will be displayed on the wall on the Cyw Facebook page: facebook.com/cywars4c

The closing date is 12pm Monday, 14 November.

No entries received after the closing date or time will be incuded within the competition

The competition is open to all residents of the United Kingdom aged 13 years or over except for S4C , Boomerang, Sain and gwasg y Lolfa staff, their immediate families and companies directly involved with this competition.

There is one prize of a copy of Blwyddlyfr Cyw annual. There is a limit of one entry to the competition per person.

The winner will be chosen at random from all names which have been tagged by the closing date. S4C's decision as to the winners is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

No purchase necessary in order to compete

One entry per person.

The winner will be notified by a message to their Facebook account after the closing date. The prizes will be posted to the winners.

The winner's name and county of residence will be available after the closing date on the Cyw Facebook page; Cyw website ("Grown-ups" section): s4c.co.uk/cyw/grown-ups and at s4c.co.uk/caban for 21 days or by telephoning the S4C Viewers' Hotline.

By entering the competition entrants:

confirm that all information provided by them to S4C is correct and that they meet all eligibility criteria for the competition;

agree to be bound by these terms and conditions; and

agree that should they win the competition, their name and photograph may be used by S4C for promotional purposes.

S4C reserves the right to request written proof of age of any winner and to disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds to believe the entrant has breached any of these terms and conditions.

All entries must be received via Facebook. Entries submitted by any other methods will not be accepted.

The prize cannot be exchanged or transferred and there is no cash alternative.

S4C reserves the right to substitute the prize or any part of it for a prize of equivalent or greater monetary value and S4C's decision in this regard is final.

S4C takes no responsibility for any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect or delay in any communication method used by entrants or for entries that have not been received before the closing date. Proof of sending e-mail cannot be accepted as proof of delivery.

The winners must provide their address in order to receive their prize by 7 days after the closing date. If, by this date, S4C is not able to contact the winner at the contact details provided or if arrangements for delivery or collection of the prize cannot be made following reasonable attempts by S4C to do so, S4C is entitled to give the prize to another name choosen at random from the entries.

The world’s best rapper’s first Rap Book!

Children love the sound of rhymes, so the perfect book for them is launched today by publishers Gwasg y Lolfa. Raplyfr 1 Rapsgaliwn 'O ble mae llaeth yn dod?' (Where does milk come from?) is full of verses for children to read and rap at the top of their voices! Rapsgaliwn, the ever popular character on S4C's children's service Cyw tells the story in the form of verses. There is also an opportunity to download a digital book for tablet devices too.

Siân Eirian, Head of S4C's Children Services said: "We are delighted that Rapsgaliwn's fame is still spreading and his popularity is going from strength to strength. A book about him as one of the most iconic Welsh children's characters and one of the newest from our pioneering children's service, Cyw is sure to be a huge success."

As well as starring on-screen, Rapsgaliwn has also released a CD of songs. During the Urdd National Eisteddfod Week in Swansea in June he released a song with Mistar Urdd, and gained hundreds more fans of all ages. And by now he's an acclaimed author!

The story in the book follows the format of the TV programme, where Rapsgaliwn, the golden-suited rapper discovers the answer to life's important questions with the help of his raplyfr (rap book).

Beca Evans of Fflic, the production company which produces Rapsgaliwn - is the author of the story. She is originally from Cardiff and has produced and worked on a number of popular programmes, such as the celebrity Welsh learning challenge 'cariad@iaith:love4language', 'Rapsgaliwn' and style show 'Cwpwrdd Dillad'.

The book is a joint project between Gwasg y Lolfa, Fflic TV and Cube Interactive, a Cardiff-based company who have created pictures for the Rapsgaliwn website.

Gwasg y Lolfa and Cube are also working together to create a Rapsgaliwn app, which will be available to download in August. Appsgaliwn will include an e-book with animated images, pages to colour and puzzles.

Meinir Edwards from Gwasg y Lolfa said: "This is an extremely exciting development. Technology moves so fast these days and children are increasingly being inspired by the small screen of the phone or iPod rather than the TV or computer screen. It will be interesting to see if the experiment works. If Appsgaliwn is a success, the possibilities to expand are endless."
